Handling
The individual layers of Lamivario® reusable shims are easily separable by hand, enabling rapid adjustments during assembly or maintenance. Markings on the top layers help identify foil thickness. The separated layers can be reused, promoting efficiency and lean production.
Processing
Lamivario® multilayer shims are manufactured through CNC cutting processes to ensure geometric reproducibility, with stripped layers remaining intact and recyclable when carefully detached. Sealing compounds or adhesives can be applied to ensure impermeability where necessary.
Structuring of Joints
Our use of interchangeable connection methods such as edge-glueing, spot-glueing, or bundling (with or without cable ties) provides both stability during handling and ease of layer removal.
AMS-DTL-22499 (formerly MIL-DTL-22499), the traditional standard for surface-bonded laminated shim stock, focuses on edge-bonding connections.

Unlike peelable laminated shims such as Laminum®, whose bonded layers are peeled away and discarded, the separated layers of Lamivario® can be reused. This makes them especially suited to assembly situations requiring repeated adjustments or where material efficiency matters.
What connection methods are used in Lamivario® multilayer shims?
Lamivario® multilayer shims are available with three connection methods: edge-welding, edge-glueing, and bundling (with or without cable ties). Edge-welding is heat-resistant and chemical-free, eliminating the risk of contaminating lubrication fluids with glue residues. Edge-glueing is used when material constraints prevent welding.
